With over 32 years of elite coaching experience and multiple certifications through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP), Kathy has set the standard for what true high-performance skating development looks like. Before transitioning to coaching, Kathy spent 18 years as an amateur skater with Skate Canada, later touring the world with the Ice Capades, where she showcased her artistry and technical mastery on a global stage.
Her coaching focuses on stride efficiency, speed, and strength, while specializing in small-area transitions, changes of speed, and direction—critical details that separate good skaters from great ones. Kathy’s approach is rooted in developing a complete athlete: strengthening their fundamental skills and helping them reach their full potential within their game.
Kathy has spent the past six seasons working with the OHL’s Windsor Spitfires and was recently invited to the Boston Bruins’ NHL training camp as a skating coach. Each summer, NHL stars including Bo Horvat, Boone Jenner, Jordan Kyrou, Lawson Crouse, Corey Perry, Ryan O’Reilly, Josh Brown, and Christian Dvorak, along with PWHL standout Natalie Spooner, trust Kathy to refine their skating and elevate their performance.
Her high-energy sessions translate seamlessly to game situations—demanding, detailed, and built for results. Kathy has a passion in her heart for coaching, and it’s truly her gift—making a difference with each athlete she works with, on and off the ice.
